A self-taught photographer, Robert prefers a variety of top quality large format film and digital cameras, which accompany him in documenting the spirit and majesty of the earth's wildlife and wild places.
A tireless pace of expeditions has taken Robert throughout the world, from his backyard to Antarctica with many new destinations planned for 2009. Recently, Robert returned from hiking and documenting the 230-mile John Muir trail in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, and just returned from a month-long African expedition to Namibia, Botswana and Zambia.
Robert's photographs have received first place awards in the world's most prestigious international competitions including the "Wildlife Photographer of the Year", hosted by the BBC, "Nature's Best Photography International Awards", and "World in Focus" sponsored by National Geographic to name a few. Additionally, Robert's photographic art has been exhibited in the world's finest museums, with current work of California on display at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC.
Robert Knight Gallery is located in Carmel California, which for eight years now continues to showcase Robert Knight's fine art photography. Additionally, Robert maintains a private studio lab where each fine art photograph is created, insuring the highest quality of photographic Art.
