PRIVATE RANCHES & STEINBECK COUNTRY Photographic Expedition with R O B E R T K N I G H T
April 21st - 22nd, 2010
Join us for a photo expedition to California's beautiful Carmel and Salinas Valleys.
We will explore the mountains and valleys green from the winter rains and covered with springtime wildflowers. In addition to several vistas accessible by road, we have arranged special visits to private ranches with superb views of Carmel and Salinas Valleys, only a select few have the opportunity to see and document. Some of the oldest growth oak trees can be found on these ranches with spectacular elevated vistas of the surrounding area. This is the country where John Steinbeck was inspired to write "The Pastures of Heaven." This is also known as an area with a high concentration of local wildlife. Be prepared to encounter animals such as Bobcat, Fox, Deer, Horses, Cattle, Eagles, Hawks and more.

ITINERARY
The expedition/workshop begins Wednesday April 21st at 7:30 AM. and
concludes Thursday April 22nd at 7:30 P.M.
A specific daily schedule will be presented on our first day, and will be
determined by local weather conditions.
EXPEDITION/WORKSHOP NOTES We will be covering both artistic and technical aspects of photography during the workshop. Bring an "adventurous spirit," as we will maintain a patient and "never stop exploring" philosophy while in the field. We will be rewarded for this extra effort. Be prepared for a visual feast! Throughout the expedition, there will be plenty of time for answers to specific questions both artistic and technical as well as personal attention. Although the workshop's emphasis is on photography, all experience levels and all formats (film and digital) are welcome. This is an extraordinary trip whether you want to photograph, or just experience the best that California's central coast has to offer.
LUNCH We will have snacks, juices and water while on location and available throughout the day. A gourmet box lunch will be served in the field, as we will be in some beautiful remote places that we will not want to leave. A menu selection will be available ahead of time for you to choose from.
Accommodation, breakfast and dinner during the workshop
Any medical treatment, evacuations, or hospitalizations if necessary
DATES TO REMEMBER Now: Deposit of $495 per person to reserve a place 2/15/2010: Second Payment of $500 due
If we must cancel the trip for any reason you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to that date. Deposits are non-refundable. Final payments are due on or before 2/15/2010. If you need to cancel after 2/15/2010, then all monies are non-refundable, unless we can find a replacement person for your expedition, in which case we will refund all monies paid.
LODGING
We strongly urge you to stay in Carmel, as this is where we will begin and end each day. It is also where we will be having lunch and our midday formal lectures. We will be happy to provide a list of recommended accommodations in the area.
RESERVE YOUR PLACE
